Course 1: A Foundation to Theater and Entertainment Automation Practices
For those new to entertainment automation, we recommend taking our Intro to Automation course on our learning management system (LMS). This course was authored by TAIT eLearning developer, Dylan Younkin.
After course completion, you should be able to:
- Demonstrate comprehension of the foundational concepts of entertainment automation.
- Describe what entertainment automation is and the difference between automated rigging and traditional manual rigging.
- Understand the importance of safety and how it is achieved in an automation system.
- Recognize the connections of various automation components from curtain to console.
Course 2: The Physics of Machines that Move
The second course in the TAIT 'Introduction to Automation' series, this course focuses on the physics at work behind the machinery that comprises an entertainment automation system.
After course completion, you should be able to:
- Understand the fundamental concepts of physics related to moving objects and their application in entertainment automation.
- Identify and analyze the principles and characteristics of simple machines in the context of entertainment automation.
- Calculate and evaluate mechanical advantage in practical scenarios of entertainment automation.
- Demonstrate an understanding of power transmission methods and their application in entertainment automation.
