Accessing Secure Device on first login

It would be very helpful to be able to set some communication parameters so that a GUI can connect to a secure device without needing to know its GUI admin password

  Have you tried the network setup button on the login page?

  I thought this was for network based licenses? I was unaware that this was also used to connect to a secure device.

  Yes, it is not obvious.  You can uncheck getting the license button.  Then follow the process and it will setup an IP connection and portal.
