Have the Embedded Navigator Device follow Secure Device User Permissions.
It seems like the when a Secure Device User is logged into a product that runs the Embedded Navigator device, that User is able to have full access of the Embedded Navigator Features. Looking for a way to have a "Lifts Operator" login only be able to move stage lifts, while having a "Flys Operator" not being able to move said lifts if latter logged into the same device.

Hi Allan,
What has worked for me in the past is to go into the permissions for the role, drill down to Show Objects > Axis Devices > select an axis and disable the Move Axis secure action for any axis you wouldn't want a role to be able to move.
I am not currently working on the show I did this on so I would suggest trying a few situations, like moving, jogging or playing back a cue from a role with Move Axis disabled to observe what happens. There may be some odd behavior where the user can not move or jog an axis but could run a cue that has a move line in it. Test thoroughly. Ideally there would be some documentation on this in the help file but pressing F1 under the permissions tab does not bring up the help window.
I hope this helps.

Hi Mike, that works great if you using a GUI, but if you are using a Compass, Atlas, Polaris, or anything running embedded navigator, once a person logs in they have full control. I built an account and role called read only and that is all the role is supposed to do (I drilled down into every device and made sure the only thing checked was "read only" and when I logged into this account, I was able to issue move commands, and run cues.

Hi Gio,
Well shit, I know I was tasked with having axis restricted by user log ins on another project and I could have sworn that was what I did. Next weekend I'll dive into this a little more and see if I can duplicate the results I think I had... I feel like there was a 'magic checkbox' somewhere that made it all happen.

Hi Gio and Allan,
I was able to duplicate the results in 4.8 sp11b2 as I described. In the secure device for the role in question I would put a Red X for the secure action of jog source and move axis and thst would remove them from the selection list in the move tab and the jog tab on the compass. After every change I would have to lock the compass and log back in to see it take effect.
After some testing it was still possible to move an axis from a cue or with an embedded panel that had a custom joystick setup for it. To take away those options you would have to limit the players and panels available to that role.
