iQ Panels - Conditional Styles
Building on the 'Element Disabling' functionality, it would be wonderful to add conditional styles based on a value.
Thinking for Buttons; to achieve this currently I have to make an indicator to do the style and then place an invisible button over the top of the indicator, which is then a pain if I want to edit the underlying indicator...

Joe,
A use case I can see for this at Glyndebourne would be quick visual reference for lighting bridge syncing.
Eg. Button for a mass syncing of lighting bridges (3 bridges in groups, 11 axes), button is green for all synced, red if any bridge is out of sync, press button and then flashes green for when the sync move is happening.
Is this the sort of functionality you are talking about on a simple level?

Hey Tom,
I hope you are well.
Use cases aside, I see it as presenting the options available to a indicator (namely the ability to select the source and type and then create styles based on those inputs) within the button also. Or perhaps it could be a modification to the indicator rather than the button, adding tick box and subsequent options to enable the indicator to act as a button also?
In terms of use cases, for me, this is useful for tracing. I like to be able to show high level status information about devices or other more global sets with an indicator and then have the ability to press said indicator and be taken to a more in-depth view of the item in question. Think fault trees etc.
I'm personally not a particular fan of presenting anything that may initiate motion on iQ panels. As they can be accessed from any browser, it becomes far less assured that an 'operator' has an Emergency Stop within reach. That's before you get into any HTR or PME considerations. If you have tight control over the network and location of any browsers on the automation network then it may be fine, but I prefer to present tools like you describe from either an eNav device or a macro on a console for example.

Ah, this was me not looking at the subject line closely enough. In my head I was thinking of the macro buttons on the Epiq, which are configurable sort of in the way I was alluding to - just not in a user friendly fashion of graphic creation (As far as I know).

Thinking further about this, the best solution may be some nesting/grouping/stacking ability of multiple panel items, rather than changing any items themselves.
Ability to bring forward/send to back, would determine which item is on top, yet when selecting the stack/group, you are presented with the tool pane options for everything in the stack, facilitating easy edits.
